Thrust SSC - World Land Speed Record Holder a fantastic model car of the manufaktur SPARK models. The two cars in this picture are both in the same 1/43 scale. Thrust SSC is in actuality 54 feet (16.5 metres) long and weighs 10.7 tonnes. It is powered by two Rolls Royce Spey 202 engines from a Phantom fighter plane, producing a total of 50,000 pounds of thrust or 110,000 HP. On October 15th 1997 Andy Green drove to a new (still standing) record of 763.035 MPH at Black Rock Desert, Nevada, USA. It is the only car to have broken the sound barrier, at Mach 1.02.
